Joe was a very caring individual. He put people’s feelings first. It made him happy when whoever he was with was happy. He was big on family and respect. He was a fun loving person, always trying to make people laugh. He did not like sad moments or drama. Joe would give the shirt off his back for anyone who was in need. He loved good Mexican food and good oldies music.
Joe is survived by his six children; son Joe Gilbert Martinez III of Wilmington, daughter Cynthia Marie Martinez of Wilmington, daughter Mallorie Yvonne Martinez of Wilmington, son Noah Frank of San Pedro, daughter Rebecca Castro of Turlock, daughter Veronica Martinez of Norwalk and the mother of his children Yvonne Vasquez. He also leaves behind his grandchildren; Abel Joseph Martinez of Rosemead, Jacob Joseph Martinez of Wilmington, Nathaniel Montalvo of Wilmington, his mother Christine Yolanda Martinez of Arizona, brother Art (Dolores) Romero of Long Beach, sister Christina (Sammy) Quiocho of Arizona, brother Frank Martinez of Arizona, brother Gabriel (Alex) Bernal of Arizona, brother Isaac Chavez of Turlock as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
