Joshua Adrian Lopez, 22, was born on December 19, 1998 in Los Alamitos, California to Homar Lopez and Rocio Adriana Duarte, and entered into eternal rest on February 19, 2021, in Downey, California.
As a young and energetic child Joshua developed a love for reading and sports. Throughout his early childhood, he played several youth sports including football, soccer, baseball, and basketball. His passion became football. Because he was above average in size compared to most his age, he was always placed in higher age-leveled teams for Pop-Warner Football. As early as the age of five, Joshua learned to play with the “big boys”. He played for the Paramount Pirates, Lancaster Cowboys, and the Downey Razorbacks. He stood out on the football field while playing positions such as center, guard, and tackle. After completing middle school, his academic and football performance gave him the opportunity to play football at St. John Bosco and Warren High School. Although he suffered a couple of injuries, Joshua was not one to give up. After spending countless hours at the gym, he came back onto the field stronger than ever during his senior year. Joshua graduated from Warren High School in 2017 leaving a legacy of popularity with his comical character and charm. For Joshua, football was not over yet. He continued to play football at Cerritos College and East Los Angeles College. He decided to take time off football and continued his studies at Cypress College. Soon after, he had fallen in love with his sweetheart Stephanie. Joshua dreamed of one day owning his own business; he knew that he would need experience to make this happen, so he took a position as a car salesman and excelled at it. His motivation was the love of his life and his soon to be born daughter. Although Joshua never met his daughter, Evangeline Joshlyn Lopez, he leaves stories of perseverance, love, and laugher that will be forever treasures for his daughter and all those he leaves behind.
