Karen "Kay" O'Brien, 74, was born September 3, 1942 in Enid, Oklahoma and entered eternal rest on January 29, 2017 in San Gabriel, California.
Kay is survived by her husband of 57 years, Terry, with whom she lived in Bishop, CA, her son, Jeff, her two daughters, Lisa and Sheri and her Brother-In-Law James O'Brien. .
Kay loved the holidays, and everything that comes with them; family, friends, laughter, decorations, cards, gift wrapping and giving, get-togethers, music, etc. She had a happy and positive outlook, and always strived to bring happiness into the lives of others. Kay was a beautiful person inside and out who was crowned Miss El Monte in the 1950s. Kay enjoyed going to the beach, reading, movies, vacationing in Hawaii, shopping, arts and crafts, and riding horses. She especially loved being surrounded by her beloved cats and dogs. She was generous in every way and always tried to see the good side in difficult situations. She enjoyed the time she spent with the friends she made throughout her life and made an effort to stay in touch with them as the years went by. Kay’s family and friends loved her. She was so special, and there will never be anyone like her. We loved her very much, and were honored and privileged to be loved by her in return. We were fortunate to have had her in our lives and we miss her tremendously.
