Kenneth "Kenny" Usher, 84, was born in Seneca, Kansas on May 16, 1924, and passed away in Downey, California on July 31, 2008.
Kenny was a man with a wonderful sense of humor, and a deep devotion to his family. He was married in 1947 to Fern Davidson and had one daughter, Vicki. He was a resident of Downey, California for over 58 years and had been employed by Ameron (formerly America Pipe and Construction) for over 46 years. Kenney served in the United States Army during World War II as a Radio Operator and Expert Carbine, and brought home the American Theater Ribbon, EAME Theater Ribbon, World War II Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and three bronze Service Stars.
Kenny loved to be around people of all ages, enjoyed planting flowers, riding his bike and of course his weekly bowling games. His favorite past-time was traveling and planning new adventures with his grandson, Robert. Kenny was a very devote Catholic, attending Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Downey, California, from 1947 to 2008, and it was his honor to be a usher for the church for these last several years. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends, especially for his wit and quick smile.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife, Fern Usher of Downey, California, daughter, Vicki Hart of Lawndale, California, grandson, Robert Hart of Downey, California, sister, Margaret Slocum of Topeka, Kansas and sister, Esther (Butch) Fitterling of Reading, Pennsylvania.
