Kyle was born Oct. 10th, 1991 in Long Beach, CA. He grew up in the city of Lakewood and attended St. Cornelius School from kindergarten through 8th grade. Kyle grew up playing Lakewood Village Little League and Long Beach Pony Baseball. He went on to attend Valley Christian High School, which turned out to be four of the best years of his life. During his high school years, he played basketball, baseball, football, and track and field. Football was his most favorite of all of these. Kyle was All-League First Team Running Back and League Champion. It was said that “If #42 had a good game, then we all had a good game.” After high school he went on to attend Azusa Pacific University where he led a discipleship group. Kyle made his dream of becoming a police officer a reality. He first served with the LAPD and was due to begin work with the South Gate PD the Sunday following his passing. It’s no secret to those who knew him or even came in contact with him that Kyle loved the Lord, and his priorities were God, family, and friends. Kyle had great compassion for others and felt blessed to help others in any way he could. He loved his family, and they meant everything to him. He was such a proud Daddy, and loved his little girls more than life itself. With all that Kyle accomplished in life, he considered his two precious daughters his greatest achievements. Kyle brought so much love, laughter, and happiness to so many lives. He will be greatly missed, but always loved.

Kyle is survived by his daughters, Kaylee and Lilah Kurian, his parents, Bradley and Lori Kurian of Lakewood, his sister, Abbey Rose Kurian of Lakewood, his grandparents, Gavin and Patricia Duncan of Downey, and his grandfather, Wendell Kurian of Van Nuys. He also leaves his aunt Tricia Duncan-Hassel of Glendora, his uncle David (Debbie) Duncan of Tribuco Canyon, his aunt Kim (Terry) Betts of Castaic and his cousins, Joshua Hassel of Glendora, Davin Duncan and Alyssa Duncan, both of Tribuco Canyon, Jason Betts and Justin Betts, both of Castaic.
