Lareeta Sue "Ricki" Henke

Ricki was born May 1, 1940 in Los Angeles, CA. She passed away in her sleep Friday morning, February 5, 2016 at her home in Montebello.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, John “Fritz” Henke, her daughters Penni (Jim) Walpert and Cheryl (Jeromy) Miller. She has four grandchildren, Billy (Sheri) Walpert, Joshua Alvaro, Rhiannon and Tarna Miller, five great grandchildren, Avalon, Blake, Jonah, Rylann, and Colin Walpert.
As a couple, Ricki and Fritz were involved in the community, with Montebello Junior Woman’s Club, Jaycees/Jayceettes, Lions, Chamber of Commerce, Miss Montebello, and the Montebello Junior Miss Scholarship Program. She served at St John’s Lutheran School as part of the Parent Teacher League, including terms as president. She also served at the church as a Sunday School Teacher and as the Sunday School Secretary. She also sang in the church choir for many years. Ricki is survived by her husband John Henke of Montebello, California and her two daughters Cheryl Henke Miller and Penni Walpert. She also leaves behind 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
