Leandro is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Mendez of Los Angeles, California, sons, Gary Almanza of Whittier, California, Ronald Mendez of Bakersfield, California, daughters, Yvonne Sierra of El Monte, California, Debra Almanza of East Los Angeles, California, Lorraine Munoz of Pico Rivera, California, brother Billy Mendez of Banning, California, sister, Alice Galvan of City Terrace, California, twenty-one grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 9:30 pm on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Risher Mortuary Chapel in Montebello, California, with the vigil at 7:00 pm.
Funeral mass will be at 9:30 am on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at Saint Benedict Catholic Church in Montebello, California, with interment following at 11:45 am at Riverside National Cemetery at Staging Area #4 in Riverside, California.
