Leon Ohanian Profile Photo
Leon Ohanian was born on December 12, 1924 in Russia to and entered into eternal rest on June 5, 2019 in Glendale, California. Leon was 94 years of age.

Levon (Leon) Ohanian was the oldest of five children of Shushanik Delibaltayan and Gulbenk Ohanian, born in Kerch on November 9, 1921 (although his official papers note an incorrect birth date of December 12, 1924). Along with his parents and thousands of others Armenians in Russia, he and his four sisters Ashkhen, Dikranouhi, Ardemis and Knarik, were displaced (DPs) from Kerch during the World War II and spent their formative years in the Funkerkaserne camp in Stuttgart, Germany. Levon arrived at Ellis Island with some of his family on the General Greeley ship from Bremerhaven, Germany, in 1950 and lived briefly in Detroit, Michigan before moving to Los Angeles.

Through dedication and hard work, he owned his own lunch truck business for over 30 years.

Leon is survived by his loving sister Knarik Boyadjian, many nieces and nephews, along with other family and friends that will miss him dearly.
