Linda Lee Townsend, 78, was born on September 19, 1945, in Long Beach, California to Alfred Eugene Church and Gloria Smith, and entered eternal rest on September 1, 2024, in Santa Ana, California.
Linda was a devoted and accomplished purchasing agent in the health services industry, with over 35 years of dedicated service, and a proud retiree of LA County General Hospital. Linda’s joy was spending time with and shopping for her family and friends. She loved shopping for antiques, plotting her next crafting adventure, reading books, doing crossword puzzles, and collecting all things Hummel and all things Christmas. She treasured her years being involved at First Baptist Church of Downey and Community Bible Study.
Linda is survived by her loving family: husband, Fred Townsend of Anaheim; sons, Tim Townsend (Laurena) of Sylmar and Mark Townsend (Stephanie) of Downey; grandchildren, Eric Townsend (Amanda) of Burbank, Mariah, Martin and Evelyn Townsend of Sylmar, and Hannah, Amanda, and Nicole Townsend of Downey; siblings, Darlene Nielsen of Lakewood and Alfred Eugene Church of Missouri; four nieces and three nephews, along with other family and friends who will miss her dearly.
Linda was reunited at Heaven's Gate with her sister, Charlene McCann, and her granddaughter, Joanna Townsend.
A Memorial Service will be held for Linda on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Bethel Grace Baptist Church, 17909 Carpintero Ave., Bellflower, CA at 2:00pm, with a dessert fellowship following. RSVP is not required, but helpful for planning, please RSVP here
