Lourdes Robleto, 97, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her children on April 11, 2021. She was immersed in the Roman Catholic devotion to such an extent that would be her ultimate strength from early life. She graduated from a technical secretarial school and then she progressed toward being a teacher in Mexico. She enjoyed teaching math and arts to first and second graders for 15 years. Her passion was reciting modern poetry; her favorite poets were Ruben Dario and Rafael Blanco Belmonte.

In 1968, she immigrated to the United States and resided in Los Angeles. She worked in the garment industry sewing trousers, coats, and beautiful swimsuits. After retiring, she returned to her life-long dedication to serving in the Catholic Franciscan order in Downtown Los Angeles. She was a great event planner as well as a passionate and dynamic member of the board, holding several board positions such as program planner, treasurer, and secretary for more than 25 years.

Lourdes is survived by her five children, twelve grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Our mamá was a pillar of love and compassion. She taught her family to love and care for each other and others. We will truly miss her sage advice, her humor, her love for her children, and her love for life. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones.

“Preach Jesus, and if necessary use words.” Francis_of_ Assisi

Lourdes was reunited with her loving husband of 49 years, Enrique Robleto when she arrived at the gates of Heaven. Robleto preceded her in death.
