Lucia H. Asturias, 55, was born on March 2, 1955 in Cuba, and passed away on April 21, 2010 in Bellflower, California. She was employed by the Downey Unified School District for twenty years.
Lucia is survived by her loving husband, Mario Asturias of Downey, daughter, Adriana Negrete of Downey, son, Mario Asturias Jr. of Downey, sisters, Carmen Maurseth of Bonney Lake, Washington, Cari Rosales of Bonney Lake, Washington, two nephews and one niece, and two grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Evelio Hernandez and her sister, Mercedes Hernandez.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Downey Memorial Christian Church, 8441 East Florence Ave., Downey, California, 90241.
Graveside service at 10:00am on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, California.
Memorial service will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Apollo Park Gym, 12544 Rives Ave., Downey, California 90242.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the family to help with the funeral expenses.
