Lupe Monje was born on October 26, 1926 in Miami, Arizona to Lauro Villaverde and Rosenda Salcedo. She entered into eternal rest on December 9, 2019 in Whittier, California at the age of 93.
Lupe V. Monje was a devoted wife and dedicated mother, very proud of her children. She was amazed by all her grandchildren, great grandchildren and was excited for the arrival of her first great great grandson.
A woman of inner strength, silent courage and lots of patience. She was kind, compassionate, and always put others first. Her love and support always came from the purity of her heart. She loved to laugh, joke, and share her witty words of silliness.

Lupe is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Fred Monje, and her beloved children, Rachael Alvarez (Mario) of La Mirada, CA, Robert Monje (Denise) of Susanville, CA, Frank Monje (Cathy) of Liverpool, NY, and Fred (Freddie) Monje (Roberta) of Apple Valley, CA. She leaves behind a legacy of 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, with one great great grandson coming any day now. Lupe leaves behind her sisters, Helen Baldonado of Hemet, CA, Dora Neilson of Ridley, CA, and Dolores Ruiz of Whittier, CA, and her brother, Fr. Jesse Galaz of Downey, CA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
