Luz Gamboa, 82, a long time resident of California, was born in Mexico on December 11, 1924 and passed away in San Gabriel, California on September 30, 2007.
Luz is survived by her loving family, daughters, Gloria Mercado of Clovis, California, Elvira Acosta of Bell, California, sons, Rodrigo Acosta of San Jose, California, Rosalio Serna of Bell, California, Alphonso Serna of Mexico, Abigail Serna of Bell, California, sister, Francisca Zamora of San Francisco, California, brother Jose Gamboa of Mexico, twenty-six grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Visitation and vigil will be held at Risher Mortuary Chapel, Montebello, California. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and the vigil will be at 7:00 pm Friday, October 5, 2007.
Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 8:00 am at Saint Matthias Church, 3095 East Florence Ave., Huntington Park, California 90255 ' (323) 588-2134, with interment following at Resurrection Cemetery, Montebello, California.
