Maria Guadalupe Mendoza, 85, was born in Jalisco, Mexico on July 15, 1927 and passed away in her home in Bell Gardens, Ca. on December 15, 2012. Maria Guadalupe enjoyed spending time with her family more than anything. She loved to tell stories in detail and was the family Historian. She was considered the rock and anchor of her family. Maria had a huge and loving heart and saw the best in everyone. She enjoyed gardening and cooking and wouldn't let anyone leave her house without a full stomach.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2012 from 5:00-9:00pm in the Risher Mortuary Chapel, with a Catholic Rosary at 7:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, 7025 Garfield Ave., Bell Gardens with burial following at Resurrection Cemetery.
Maria is survived by her loving husband, Jose Guadalupe Mendoza Sr. of Bell Gardens, her children, Francis (Manuel) Schober of La Mirada, Lucia Penilla of Upland, Daniel (Margarita) Mendoza of Garden Grove, Jose Guadalupe (Estella) Mendoza Jr. of Long Beach, Juan M. Mendoza of Bell Gardens, Jose Pedro (Maria Guadalupe) Mendoza of Bell Gardens, Salvador Mendoza of Ontario, Dolores Angelina Carrasco of Bell Gardens, Arturo Mendoza of Bell Gardens, Sarah Rosa Mendoza of Dayton, Ohio, 30 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. She also leaves her siblings, Pedro Bonilla of La Puente, Emelia Bonilla de Sanchez of Mexico, Carmen Madera of Pico Rivera and Aurelia Bonilla de Escabado of Mexico.
