Maria Socorro Rangel (93) was born on September 5, 1926 in Guadalajara, Mexico to Jose Jesus Romo and Serafina Aguirre. She entered into eternal rest on August 17, 2020 in Montebello, California.
Maria was intelligent and dedicated, providing for her family by working as a Secretary for Business Education for 16 years.
Her son, Sergio, has these fond words to share about her:
"My Mother was a strong, loving, caring, and wonderful woman, who put her sons' needs before her own. Growing up we did not have much, but my Mother worked hard to ensure that we had what we needed to live comfortably. She also never forgot about her parents in Mexico. With the little money she made she would find ways to send some to them. Everyone who met my Mother would say to me and my brother that she had a warm, welcoming, vibe about her, that they loved."
Maria is survived by her loving family, her sons, Enrique Godinez and Sergio Godinez of Montebello, CA, her grandchildren, Nicole Godinez, Cassandra Godinez, and Joseph A. Godinez of Hacienda Heights, CA, and her sister, Esperanza Vasquez (and her husband Luis) of North Hollywood, CA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Maria was greeted at Heaven's Gate by her brother, Juan Manuel Romo, her sister, Luz Maria Garcia, her sister, Herminia Romo, her sister, Olivia Garcia, and her brother, Jesus Romo. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
