Martha Harrison Profile Photo
Martha Edith Harrison was born in Tijuana, Mexico, on January 14, 1956, to Maria Bertha Diaz. Surrounded by family, she entered eternal rest on June 12, 2024, in Long Beach, California.

Martha was a Long Beach resident. She worked as a restaurant hostess at Disney's Storytellers Cafe in Anaheim, CA for the past fifteen years. Her welcoming demeanor touched the lives of countless patrons. During her time at work, she made long-term friendships with co-workers and customers. She was proud to introduce her family to her friends whenever they stopped by.

Martha was a loving mother dedicated to her three daughters and son. She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She made the time to keep in touch with them via calls, texts, or in person. She sent out daily messages to let them know she loved them and finished with, "Have a blessed day!"

She had a great sense of humor and a contagious smile. Her hugs were filled with love and care and were always memorable. She loved cooking for her family, especially mole. Her grandkids loved her sopita and her Mexican rice. She never hesitated to welcome her kids or anyone with open arms. She loved unconditionally.

She enjoyed going out to eat with friends or family or to have a cafecito.

She liked going to the movies with a gentle warning not to be late for the previews. She also loved making everyone laugh with her silly Snapchat filters.

In addition, Martha loved her involvement at Cottonwood Church, where she had been a member since 1991. She graduated from Cottonwood School of Ministry with a Certificate of Completion in Bible Studies in 1998.

She was baptized into Christianity in the late 1970s in a San Pedro, California church, marking the beginning of her spiritual journey. However, as her faith deepened and her connection to Cottonwood Church grew stronger, she felt a calling to reaffirm her commitment. Therefore, on June 9, 2019, she was baptized again at a deeply meaningful Cottonwood Church ceremony.

Martha's dedication to helping others was evident in completing two years in the 12-Step Celebrate Recovery Program. She took on a new challenge this year, co-leading her first 12-step Program. Her goal was to guide and support women in overcoming their hurts, habits, and hang-ups, a testament to her personal growth and resilience.

Martha's presence in the community was a beacon of light. She cherished the gatherings with her sisters in Christ, rarely missing a meeting, be it a service, bible study, or women's gathering. Her friendships were numerous, a testament to her warm and welcoming nature.

She was respected and loved by all those who knew her. She had a great heart and a beautiful smile. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. If anyone would like to honor Martha and wear her favorite colors of red or purple the day of her service, please feel free to do so.

Martha is survived by her loving family:
