Mary Louise Sorenson was born on June 4, 1926 to Phillip and Elena (Gutierrez) Beanes in Los Angeles, California and entered into eternal rest on November 1, 2016 in Whittier, California. She was 90 years old.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 67 years Rex Sorenson of Santa Fe Srpings, California and her two children; daughter Terri (Carl) O'Brien of Huntington Beach, California and son Rex (Kathy) Sorenson Jr. of Chatanooga, Tennesse. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren; Lee (Mindy) O'Brien of Huntington Beach, Tammy (Drew) Davis of Brea, April (Jeremy) Buttson of West Linn, OR, Jennifer Kuhl of Hendersonville, TN, Ashley (Mike) Ickes of Aliso Viejo, Rex (Megan) Sorenson III of Soddy-Daisy, TN, Tyler Sorenson of Chatanooga, TN and 16 great-grandchildren. Mary was greeted at Heavens Gate by her grandson Johnny Lee Sorenson as well as 3 brothers and 4 sisters who all preceded her in death.

"When we think about you so many things settle in our hearts❤️ We think about early mornings as a little children, drinking our "sugar milk with a splash of coffee", we think about Christmas eve's and apples "each with our name", hanging on the tree, tamales and chili beans was our tradition. We think about your 'Spanish twirl' anytime you'd see a camera rolling, your laughter, how it echoed and how your granddaughters inherited the same cackle. We think about how just the mere thought of you makes us feel at home, no matter where we are. You blessed this world with your life for 90 years and we feel equally as much joy as we do sorrow now that you can rest. You were such a good grandma, feisty, funny and so faithful to your family and grandpa for 67 years. The sweet vision of you wrapping your arms around Johnny, your parents and all your siblings reminds us, that we don't have to mourn, the way some mourn. We mourn with the hope of being reunited, together in the life that we were created for all along. We could go on and on about what you mean to us and how much your family loves you but instead we will say thank you Grandma! When we think about you, we think about who we are and where we came from ❤️️we Love you Gram ❤️️"

On behalf of the entire Sorenson family, we thank you for loving Mary and remembering her the way we do. Her life is certainly one to celebrate. She lived a long life filled with love for husband, her children, her grandchildren and 16 great-grand children. She loved to take trips going to shows at the La Miranda Theater, bingo with friends, visits to the salon, watching her Spanish soap opera's and having our grandpa drive her around because she never obtained a drivers license. She was full of life, adored by her family, quick to give you her opinion and was one of the strongest women we've ever known. Today, we say goodbye to this amazing woman and commit her into the arms of the Lord.

Condolences may be sent to her family through our website.
