Michael Oliva Bourassa, was born on November 26,1948 to Gerald and Francis Bourassa in San Pedro California. He grew up in the city of Norwalk, where he developed lifelong friendships he maintained through out his life. He graduated from St. Paul High School and after graduation Michael enlisted in the US Navy on August 19, 1968 and was honorably discharged for his faithful service on August 18,1972. While in the Navy he served on two ships, USS Twinning and USS Lloyd Thomas was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Combat Action Ribbon.

Michael met his wife Rose at a wedding shortly after being discharged from the military, coincidently they were partners in a wedding. It was a match made in heaven, as Michael caught the garter & Rose caught the bouquet, they were married in 1982 and the following year they purchased their first home in La Mirada. They quickly became active members of Beatitudes Of Our Lord Catholic Church. In 1989 they welcomed son Nicholas Michael into the family, followed by Emily Rose in 1995. In 1989 they moved into their current home in La Mirada, which is where he entered into eternal rest on August 15,2021 surrounded by his loving family.


As a car enthusiast, he was a member of the local chapter of the AMC Javelin Club. Michael always enjoyed a good car show, he participated with his 72 Javelin and his Thunderbird. Michael was a founding member of the St. Paul High School Breakfast Club. Michael never missed a opportunity to attend family gatherings and especially loved his "Sunday night dessert" get together. He never met a chocolate chip cookie he didn't like.

Michael leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Rose, Daughter Emily Rose and granddaughter Melanie Bourassa-Muro, Sisters Cindy Bourassa Regalado of La Habra and Karen Bourassa (Norm) Hickling of Windermere, Florida. Michael was a proud and loving Uncle to his nieces and nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews. Upon his homecoming Michael was met at heavens gate by his his parents, Gerald and Frances and his son Nicholas who proceeded him in death. Michael will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. His angel wings were ready, but our hearts were not.
