Michael James Dunn, 84, was born on July 13, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to Michael Dunn and Melvina Burns, and entered into eternal rest on January 10, 2021 in Huntington Beach, California.
Michael served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged for his honorable and faithful service to our great nation. Michael also dedicated over 40 years of hard work while employed as a teacher.
Michael Dunn was a man of many talents. He was a high school American Literature teacher and coached Cross Country and Track. He ran the Senior Olympics in 1996. Mike was an avid traveller and runner, making lifelong friendships at each new location that he visited. He took pride in hiking Mt. Baldy, Mt. Shasta, Mt. Whitney, Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Everest Base Camp and Machu Picchu. He was a sponsor with Alcoholics Anonymous, helping many people. Mike was active in the Knights of Columbus and loved heading up Sports Night and helping with the Christmas Food Drive. Mike was a man loved by many. He will be greatly missed.
Michael is survived by his loving family: Wife, Sharon Midgett Dunn of Riverside, Ca., Daughters, Heather Reinecke of Rancho Mission Viejo, Ca., and Linda Cassacento of Palo Heights, Il., Brothers, Richard Dunn of Redding, Ca., and Tom Dunn of Gonzales, Tx., Niece, Lisa Dunn of Concord, Ca., along with other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Michael was met at the gates of Heaven by his siblings, Steve Dunn, Judy Dunn, Kathleen "Chickie" Dunn, and Bill Dunn who all preceded him in death.
