Myriam Picado, age 76, a resident of Bellflower, California, went to be with the Lord on January 14, 2021. Our mother’s laughter, wisdom and love will be deeply missed.
Myriam was born in Estelí, Nicaragua on April 14, 1944 to Ramon Picado Rodríguez and Inocencia Molina Castillo. Myriam was first married in 1962, while in Nicaragua, to Ulyses Lacayo. Following that, Myriam pursued her dreams and came to Los Angeles in 1973. There, she met and married Carlos Pineda in 1975. During her lengthy and successful career, Myriam was a teacher, executive secretary and Broker/Owner of MPM Property, Realty and Mortgage Depot. She was a respected member of the National Association of Realtors. Myriam delighted in education and was always learning. In 2004, she earned her Associate of Science Degree in Business, graduating with honors.
Myriam is preceded in death by her parents and siblings Aristides Picado, Donaldo Picado, Orlando Picado and Walter Picado.
Myriam was a loving and caring friend, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by siblings Yolanda Picado, Hilda Picado, Ramon Picado, Byron Picado, Nereyda Palacios, children Martha Lacayo-Martínez, Kattya Kancylarysta, Carlos Pineda Jr., grandchildren Josue Prieto, Christopher Argueta, Andrés Mendoza, Myriam Mendoza, Emily Boisselle and Benjamin Mendoza, great grandchildren Joshua Prieto and Logan Salcido, nephews Melvin Picado, Erick Picado, Henry Picado, niece Jennifer Palacios, and great-nephews Melvin Picado Jr., George Jimenez, Justin Jimenez, Erick Picado Jr. and Andrew Picado and great-nieces Elaine Picado, Veronica Picado and Celeste Picado. Myriam also leaves many other beloved family members in Nicaragua.
