Nadine Agnes Eisen, 90, was born in Monrovia, CA on May 13, 1924 and passed away in Hollywood, CA on June 20, 2014. Nadine had resided in Pasadena for the previous 3 years and prior to that lived in Del Mar, Whittier and Monterey Park. She was born to John Finke and Alice Latimer and weighed 2 lbs when she was born. Her father loved to spoil her. Nadine attended Pasadena City College and U.S.C. She was an Elementary School Nurse, College Nurse, Director of the College Health Center for 30 years and College Professor.
She was married to Bill Eisen for 17 years and had 2 children, Michael and Jeffrey Eisen. She was then very happily married to Felix Quinonez for 30 years and they lived in beautiful Del Mar, which was a lifelong dream of hers to live by the ocean. Nadine loved the ocean and loved to travel. Everyone knew Nadine as a very generous, helpful and caring person. She would always see the best in everyone. Nadine truly loved Felix and his family. It has been a blessing for all of the Eisen family to be a part of the Quinonez family.
Nadine loved plants like her mother. Everyone who knew her knew that she loved orchids the most, and especially pink ones. She also followed in Imelda Marcos' footsteps to see who could own the most shoes and clothing.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, 16400 Springdale St., Huntington Beach with interment following at Good Shepherd Cemetery in Huntington Beach.
Nadine is survived by her sons, Mike A. Eisen of Alhambra, CA and Jeff P. (Joanne) Eisen of So. Pasadena, CA. She also leaves her grandchildren, Oceana Christopher of Long Beach, CA and Victoria (Eric) Wells of Springfield, MO and her great grandchildren, Emily, Madison and Austin Curley. Nadine is preceded in death by her husband of 20+ years, Felix Quinonez, who passed away in 2002. She also had 4 brothers, Art, Bob, Ray and Rusty and she was especially close to Rusty.
In lieu of flowers, Nadine would really enjoy everyone to stop and appreciate each other. She would also love us to enjoy the ocean and watch the sunset. As you are doing that, take a moment right before the sun goes down to see the green mist. The family spent years doing that with her. She loved it every time. Whether it was camping in the forest, desert or at the beach. Whether she was visiting other countries, she was always reaching for the horizon. She will be very missed by many.
