Neil Oscar Ohman

Neil Oscar Ohman, 90, was born on January 17th, 1933 in South Dakota to Oscar Ingvald Ohman and Julia Marie Olson. Neil entered into eternal rest on February 1st, 2023 in Whittier, California.
He attended the Messiah Lutheran Church of Downey, California. A celebration of his life is planned for 10:00 AM, March 15, 2023, at the Messiah Lutheran Church of Downey, California. Neil’s ashes will be interred in the Toronto Cemetery of Toronto, South Dakota, near the graves of his beloved mother and father.
Neil was intelligent and hard-working. He is a graduate of the South Dakota State University. He attended and completed engineer officer’s basic course at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, and achieved the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. He was employed as an aerospace engineer by Rockwell and Northrop Grumman. Neil was gregarious and enjoyed the company of his many friends. He was an avid golfer with two holes-in-one to his credit.
Neil was preceded in death by his mother and father and his brother George O. Carefoot and niece Kathleen Carefoot. Neil is survived by his loving family: Niece - Carol Jean Carefoot, Nephew – George “George, Jr.” M. Carefoot and his wife, Nancy M. Carefoot, longtime friend - Antonia Sorto, and many other friends. Neil will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
