Norma Louise Borror, 87, of Long Beach California passed away September 13, 2019 with family by her side.

She was born to Dorothy and Walter Diskey in Marion Indiana. Norma graduated High school from Bob Jones Academy and received a B.A Degree in Children Education and a minor in Business at Bob Jones University. She received her “PHT” Putting Hubby Through degree from Dallas Theological Seminary.

She was married to James A Borror in 1954 in Marion Indiana. They quickly returned to Bob Jones University where they completed their college education. With degrees in hand, they moved to Dallas Texas where James finished his Master’s in bible and THD in Theology and Norma her “PHT” Putting Hubby Through degree. During this time, they welcomed their first child, Bethany Ann.

Very quickly, they were sought after by a group of 13 people who had a vision of starting a church in Scottsdale Arizona. With excitement they accepted their offer and moved to Arizona where they started Scottsdale Bible Church. Still a thriving church and school in Scottsdale. They continued to grow their family with the birth of their son, David Mark.

In 1969 they were courted by First Baptist Church of Lakewood. With God’s leading, they accepted the position of Senior Pastor and moved to California

They continued a very active ministry-minded life in California. Norma is survived by her husband James Borror, two children: Bethany Sunny, of Long Beach and David Borror and his wife Rachael, of Long Beach California. Seven grandchildren: Christopher Borror and his wife Angela, of Las Vegas; Marissa Sunny, of Long Beach; Devon Sunny, of Long Beach; Dasan Borror, of Long Beach; Aiyanna Borror, of Long Beach; Chayton Borror, of Long Beach; and two Great Grandchildren: Talon Borror, of Las Vegas; Marek Borror, of Las Vegas.

Norma was a vivacious caring Christian woman who loved the Lord, loved being a devoted Pastor’s Wife, mama bear to her children and grand/great children, and a encouraging faithful friend. Her smile lit up any room and the twinkle in her eyes and kind words made everyone she met feel special.

The celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 12pm at Arbor Road Church in Long Beach, California. It will be live-streamed for those who cannot make the service at http://live.arborroad.com/ or go to www.arborroad.com and click on Live Stream.
