Paul Allen passed away on August 25th, of 2012, at 6:00 AM in the Royal Palms Senior Care Home of Santa Clarita, California. Paul had been in declining in health since a stroke four years ago. He was born on March 11th, 1926, in Fowlerville, Michigan, to Rex and Beulah Allen. He was raised on a diary farm, attended a small country school before going to high school in Fowlerville. In Fowlerville High School he was active in the band playing the cornet and the drama club. He served as his senior class president despite the fact that he graduated two years early and was the youngest member of his graduating class.

After high school he attended Huntington College in Huntington, Indiana until 1942. in 1942 he returned to the family farm in Michigan to help his father run the farm due to an extreme shortage of man power due to World War II. He received a farm exemption due to the countries need for food during the war period. In 1946 he traveled to California where he met his wife, Harriet Elizabeth Adams, better known as Betty. They were married on September 17th, 1948, in the Adams' home in Glendale, California.

After their marriage Paul attended Glendale College, while working a number of odd jobs. With the birth of their eldest son, Steven Paul, he went to work for General Controls in the machine shop. He worked for General Controls until the company was bought by IT&T. he was promoted to foreman and was selected to attend IT&T's classes preparing the way for the use of computers and computerized methods of machining parts. He excelled in this new use of computers and was highly sought after for making presentations on the use of new technology. The new system was called Amaps. Paul received many awards as an Honored Speaker. He retired from IT&T in 1985 and went into private consulting.

In 1986 Lockheed-Martin of Ontario, California, offered him a job. He remained with Lockheed-Martin until 1992 when he retired again. With his retirement in 1992 Paul and his wife, Betty moved to Mammoth Lakes, California. They lived there until 1997when they decided to move back to southern California in order to be closer to their two sons. From 1997 until Paul's passing they lived in the Santa Clarita area.

He is survived by his wife, Harriet Elizabeth Allen (Betty), of 64 years, his two sons, Steven P. Allen (lieutenant of Police, LAPD, retired) of Acton, and David R. Allen (LAFD Engineer, retired) of Valencia, daughters-in-law Susan K. Allen and Michelle Allen, and three grandchildren, Krystal H Allen-Worthington, DVM, PhD, BS, of the University of Pennsylvania, Matthew M. Allen, BA in Music Composition of Monrovia, and Lauren N. Allen-Boone, BA in Business of Valencia.

A Graveside service was held on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 11:00am at Rose Hills Memorial Park. Dr. Stan Fix of the Friendly Valley Community Church presided over the ceremony and will preside over the Memorial Service which will be held on October 21, 2012 at 2:00pm at the Friendly Valley Community Church, 19246 Ave of the Oaks, Newhall, Ca. 91321.
