Paul Thomas Ashley, 81, was born on April 10, 1941, in Fort Scott, Kansas to Paul Ashley and Vita Lucile Elgin, and entered into eternal rest on September 7, 2022, in Downey, California.
Paul proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged for his faithful service to our great nation. From childhood, Paul enjoyed a strong interest in all things science. He continued with teaching electronics and robotics in middle school, high school, and college. Paul was known as a jokester who loved telling stories and sharing experiences and knowledge, but most of all he loved to make people laugh. He was activity oriented, participating In the South Gate youth band, AV Club, The Coast Guard Auxiliary, robotics, Scouts, and working with his church in many areas. Paul loved being a brother, husband, father, and grandfather.
Paul is survived by his loving family: Wife, Melody Ashley of Downey, Children, James Ashley of New York, John Ashley (Maria) of Colorado, Grandchildren, Jayde Ashley of Connecticut, Shyla Ashley of Connecticut, Louella Ashley of Colorado, Bevan Ashley of Colorado, Brother, Dennis Ashley (Sandra) of Downey, Nieces, Lisa Ashley, Laura Ashley, and Nephew David Ashley, along with other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
