It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Petra "Petie" Reyes, who left us peacefully on January 7, 2025, surrounded by family. She was a shining light in the lives of all who knew her, and her love and kindness will be forever cherished.
Born on November 3, 1947, Petie was a devoted mother to Eric Reyes, a proud grandmother to Erica and Elijah Reyes, and a loving great-grandmother to the newest branches of her family tree. Her heart was vast enough to embrace not only her immediate family, but also her step-grandchildren who loved her as their own.
Petie was a woman of extraordinary warmth, grace, and generosity. Her home was always a place of comfort and love, filled with laughter, stories, and unforgettable moments. She had an incredible gift for making everyone feel special, and she leaves behind not only a legacy of cherished memories but also a family committed to carrying on that legacy of kindness, grace, and devotion in her honor.
Her presence will be missed more than words can express, but we find comfort in knowing that her love will continue to guide and support us. Her laughter and gentle spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
A celebration of Petie's life will be held on February 15th, 2025, at 1:00 PM at St. Benedict Church in Montebello with a reception to follow at her home. All who loved her are welcome to join in honoring her memory and the indelible mark she made on our hearts. Flower donations may be delivered to the church no more than an hour prior to the ceremony.
