Phyllis Ruth Thompson Profile Photo
Phyllis Ruth Thompson, 91, was born on September 15, 1928 in Indiana to William Herman Schmidt and Cecil Jane Lovall, and entered into eternal rest on March 12, 2020 in Artesia, California.

Phyllis loved God, family, friends, church, and serving the Lord – whether it was cleaning in the church kitchen, driving friends to church, or through her gracious hospitality in her home.

On October 3, 1950, Phyllis married Tom Thompson. Together they raised a family and she managed his chiropractic office for many years. Becoming a widow in 1990, she continued to be dedicated to her family and friends.

In her spare time, Phyllis enjoyed sewing, cooking, puzzles, word searches, reading, and playing games. In 2016, Phyllis became a resident of Artesia Christian Home, eventually in Memory Care where she loved participating in all of the activities and hymn sings.

Phyllis is survived by her loving family: Daughters, Pamela (Joe) Mendoza of Cypress, California, and Paula (Jim Dehoop) Thompson of Bellflower, California, Grandchildren, Richard Mendoza of Arcata, California, Reanna Mendoza of Cypress, California, and Lauren Mendoza of Rancho Santa Margarita, California, Great Granddaughter, Isabella Richards of Cypress, California, Sister in Law, Carol Schmidt of Pasadena, California, as well as other family and friends who will miss her dearly.

Phyllis was reunited with her husband Tom Thompson, and brothers Ray and Norman Schmidt, upon her entrance through the gates of Heaven.
