Raul Ramon Sarabia 18, born on March 6, 1996 went to be home with the Lord on July 12, 2014. Also known as “Ponchis” and “Raulis”. He was the youngest of two siblings. Raul was born in Riverside, CA. His grandmother Virginia Flores raised him. He spent his early childhood in East Los Angeles where he attended Rowan Elementary. He promoted to Burke Middle School and went on to El Rancho High School in Pico Rivera for his freshman year, He transferred to Columbus High School in Downey, California where he graduated and received high recognitions and awards in Writing.
As a child and during his teen years Raul enjoyed skateboarding, playing basketball, and football in the park with his only sibling Samantha and his cousins. He loved to eat fruit like Granny Smith apples, mangos, and bananas. His favorite home cooked meal included grandma Virginia’s white rice, Chilaquiles, Enchiladas and Taquitos with guacamole. He was so grateful for the little things in life.
Raul was tremendously gifted in Art, Music and Writing. He enjoyed playing the keyboard. Those who knew him well had the privilege of listening to his music that he composed which included lyrics and mixed beats.
Raul planned on attending Rio Hondo College in the fall and pursuing a career in Firefighting. His dream was to work and be able to provide for his grandmother Virginia, whom was his legal guardian and raised him as her own son.
Raul is survived by his grandmother Virginia Flores, sister Samantha Sarabia of Pico Rivera, Uncles, aunts, grandfather and nephews. Raul we love you and you will be greatly missed by your entire family and friends. You have left an impact on the community.
