Richard Botello Garcia, 69, was born on April 16, 1953 in Los Angeles, California to Felix D. Garcia and Josephine Botello, and entered into eternal rest on July 30, 2022, in Whittier, California. He was raised in the San Gabriel Valley and graduated from San Gabriel High School. He worked many jobs prior to settling in Whittier, CA.

Rick was a hardworking family man who loved his wife, Delores, whom he was married to for 30 years. Together they shared 5 children and 16 grandkids whom he loved and spoiled with candy, snacks, and trinkets. After 27 years of faithful service to Coca Cola Bottling company, he retired as a transport driver and really enjoyed being a homebody. He enjoyed the simple things of life—starting his day early and taking his beloved dog, Calisi, out for a walk at the park. He enjoyed a day at the race track with his stepsons and eating out at Pepe’s Burritos with his friends.

He was a strong personality with a big generous heart. He was a Teamster steward who represented the needs of others and loved to help make things right for his co-workers. Rick will be greatly missed.

Richard is survived by his loving family: Wife, Delores Garcia, Children, Jeanette Garcia of Palm Springs, Juan Hernandez (Elvia) of Whittier, Marie Taylor (Ed) of Parker, Colorado, Tony Hernandez (Mirna) of Downey, Sal Hernandez (Sylvia) of Pico Rivera, 16 Grandchildren, 1 Great-Grandson, Siblings, Philip Garcia, Sally Foster, Irene Hooper, Helen Scales, Bobby Garcia and numerous of nieces and nephews, along with other family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Richard was reunited at the gates of Heaven with his parents, Felix and Josephine Garcia, Brother Art Garcia, and Grandson Eddie Taylor.
