Robert Cruz Lucero was born on February 22, 1975 in Los Angeles, California to Cruz Flores Lucero and Sheri Ann Sanchez and entered into eternal rest on August 23, 2021 in Whittier, California at the age of 46. Through great passion and dedication Robert was a teacher for over 24 years.
Robert always enjoyed keeping track of current events in sports, primarily in baseball and college football. His favorite baseball team was the Los Angeles Dodgers, and his favorite college football team was the USC Trojans. He had a passion for teaching, not just in the classroom, but outside of it as well. He spent many years being a youth baseball coach and dedicated himself to making sure he spent as much time as he could with his children. More specifically, he always enjoyed spending time talking with his son, or taking his daughter to the park to play with her and make her laugh. My father, in many aspects, was a selfless man who would do whatever he could to make sure he provided opportunities for his children to succeed and learn continuously. He loved finding new places to eat around town and being out with friends/family. I will always remember my father for his smile. His smile had the ability to make anyone’s day light up. He was a smart man with so much potential, and always willing to speak up whenever he felt a particular way. Although stubborn, my father never gave up and never stopped looking forward.
He leaves behind his loving family: Children: Jacob Lucero of La Mirada, CA, Emie Lucero of Compton, CA, Parents: Cruz and Sheri Lucero of Upland, CA, Brother, Greg Lucero (Wife Cindy Gutierrez) of Lynwood, CA, Nephews, Alexander Lucero of Tempe, AZ, and Eric Joiner of Lynwood, CA, Numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins, along with other family and friends who will love and miss him dearly.
