Ronnie Valdez, 88, was born on November 24, 1936, in Los Angeles, California to Delfino Valdez and Clara Loya, and entered eternal rest on December 8, 2024, in Downey, California.
Ronnie proudly served in the United States Navy and later worked for the Department of Water and Power as an electrical superintendent and independent contractor. He took great pride in his work, demonstrating dedication and expertise throughout his career.
A loving family man, Ronnie cherished time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, finding joy in their company. He was also a devoted crossword enthusiast, spending countless hours solving puzzles in the L.A. Times.
Ronnie had a deep love for nature and the outdoors. He enjoyed gardening, carving, and spending time camping in the High Sierras. Fishing was another of his passions, providing him with both relaxation and a sense of adventure.
Ronnie’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him, and he will be remembered for his warmth, dedication, and love for life.
Ronnie is survived by his loving family: Wife, Virginia Valdez, Daughters, Margaret Perez (Javier) and Cathy Rojas (Steve), Son, Ronnie Valdez Jr., 8 Grandchildren, and 25 Great-Grandchildren, along with other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
