Rose Gatson

We are saddened to announce the passing of Rose Gatson on Tuesday, September 27th in Montebello, CA. She was born on August 30, 1935 in Los Angeles, CA. Rose was an incredible and accomplished woman, a dedicated wife, a generous and loving Mother and Grandmother who made sure all of her loved ones had everything they ever needed. Rose was an avid traveler throughout her life, and loved to tell her stories to her family, ranging from the elite dinners and wine tastings in Spain and Italy, to one of her favorite trips in New Zealand. Even after her husband of 30 years passed, John M Gatson, Rose still continued to live vivaciously, surrounded by love and friendship. Rose enjoyed music and singing, with her favorites ranging from Marco Antonio Solis to The Platters. Later in her life Rose became an avid Country Music fan which surprised us all! You would often find Rose at her happiest being surrounded by family and her grandkids, doing crossword puzzles/sudoku and enjoying a glass of Merlot.

She is survived by her sisters, Elva Broderick of Whittier, CA and Zenia Schmitz of Leucadia, Ca, her daughter, Cheryl Gatson of Rimrock, AZ, her son Mark Gatson of Milwaukee, OR, her grandchildren, Justin Beardsley of Montebello, CA, Aimee Beardsley of Denver, CO, Ashley Magenot of Rimrock, AZ, Lauren Gardenhire of Laytonville, CA, Connor Beardsley of Montebello, CA and Nicolas Gatson of Milwaukee, OR. She is also survived by 8 great great grandchildren. Rose is predeceased by her husband, John Gatson, her father, Ray P. Gallego and her mother, Teresa Gallego.

A reception will follow the Memorial Mass. The family will provide the reception information following the Mass.
