Rose Ortega Villarreal, 90, of Montebello, Ca., was born on September 12, 1922 in Duarte, Ca., and passed away on Novemeber 14, 2012 in Montebello, Ca.
Rose was homemaker for 58 years. She very much cherished entertaining relatives at her home, which Rose kept so tidy you could eat off the floors. As a young woman, she was very talented singer, guitarist, pianist and treasured all genres of music. She and her sister once saw Count Basie and Duke Ellington play live in concert and she would always be thrilled to have that opportunity. Rose was a beautiful woman who took pride in her appearance, being always impeccably dressed and getting her hair done at the salon every week.
Rose is survived by her daughter Regina Salas, son-in-law Richard Salas, sisters Eustola Montoya, and Eleanor Smith both of Highland Park, Ca., and her grandchildren; Louie Arce, Eric Salas and Mira Salas.
Rose is predeceased by her husband Jose and her sisters Catalina Gutierrez and Josephine Gibbs.
