Sally Mancillas
March 30, 1929 — February 23, 2025
Sally Gloria Mancillas was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Buenaventura and Adela Gonzales Pena on March 30, 1929 and earned her heavenly wings on February 23, 2025 in Whittier, California. She moved with her family to Los Angeles as a teen where she met the love of her life, Joseph Salvador Mancillas and married November 20, 1949. She remained a faithful and loving partner for 57 years until his passing February 2007.
Later in life, she sought to further her education and attended both East Los Angeles College and California State University, Los Angeles where she earned both a Bachelor and Master of Arts in English, a minor in Psychology along with a teaching credential. She became a well respected Parent Educator for Montebello Unified School District where she empowered women, families and children with love and wisdom for 36 years.
She is survived by her loving children Denise Sandoval, Thomas Mancillas, Paul Mancillas and Chuck Mancillas, daughters in law Elsie Mancillas and Eve Mancillas her sister, Pat Navarro, her 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren who all had the great privilege to have such a loving mother and Nana. Sally will be joining Sal in heaven to continue her passionate work as an angel.
