Salvador Ramos, 82. of Bell Gardens, California, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at his home. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, sibling, cousin, and friend, who was never shy about giving advice or his opinion.
Salvador was born on May 13, 1941 in Huiscolco,Tabasco, Zacatecas, Mexico. He is the son of Dagoberto Ramos and Mercedes Ramos Solis.
Salvador married Frances Swain in 1969, after meeting in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, while both were serving in the US Army. After his military service, Salvador worked at Sears for most of his career, and provided well for his family.
He is survived by his children: Molly Ramos, David Ramos; grandchildren: Daniel Ramos, Sabrina Ramos, and Emily Ramos, siblings: Antonio, Dagoberto, and Maria Matilda, many nieces and nephews, as well as several cherished cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, half-brother Ampelio, brothers Jose and Eleuterio, as well as his two sisters by the same name, Maria Auxilio.
Salvador will always be remembered for his stories, love of conversation, and generosity. He enjoyed telling stories about his happy years as a child in Aguascalientes, Mexico, and visiting his family as a youngster in Huiscolco, Tabasco, Zacatecas, Mexico. He always made time for his friends and neighbors, and could play dominoes with the best of them. There was never a favor he would not give for his loved ones. We will miss him every day, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.
A viewing and rosary will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 4-7PM at Risher Mortuary & Cremation Service, Montebello, CA.
A mass will be held on March 21, 2024, at St. Gertrude the Great Catholic Church in Bell Gardens at 10:30am. Following the service, family and friends are welcome to a luncheon at Eva's Cookery, at 7211 Garfield Ave, Bell Gardens, CA 90201.
