Samuel Miramontes, 74, was born in Zacatecas, Mexico on January 15, 1939 and passed away at his home surounded by his loving family in West Covina, California on January 3, 2014. Samuel throughout most of his professional career was employed as an electrical engineer for 17 years. He however, dabbled in many things. He was a real estate broker, a tax preparer, an accomplished professional photographer and loved working with all types of tools. He was considered a "jack of all trades."
Samuel loved being with his family above all things. He was a generous, hard working man who loved to learn and be educated. He helped his brothers through school and strongly encouraged them to become educated. He passed on his love of learning to his children and grandchildren. He loved family get-togethers in the park where we would play soccer or volleyball, laugh and eat. More recently, he loved going to breakfast every Sunday after Mass with his family, especially his young grandchildren.
Samuel was a devout Catholic with strong faith. Samuel was a die hard Republican through and through. He loved to talk about either subject.
A Catholic Vigil will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 7:00pm at Sacred Heart Church, 344 W. Workman Ave., Covina, Ca. 91723. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 12 noon also at the church with interment following at Forest Lawn Covina Hills.
