Sarah Margaret Cox went to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, December 5, 2012. She was 93 years old, and died from complications after surgery for a broken hip.
Margaret was born April 25, 1919, in Geary, Oklahoma, to Glenard Cyril and Mary Elizabeth (Myers) Davis. She was raised in El Reno, Oklahoma, and graduated from Oklahoma College for Women. She moved to Fontana, California, in 1945, where she later met and married her husband, Rowland Cox IV on December 15, 1950. Margie and Rodie had three children, Sarah Margaret (Miller) now of Whittier, California, Sharon Ann (Fearer) now of Covina, California and Rowland V, now of Buckeye, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Clarence Glenard; and her sister, Gertrude Mae (Merritt). Besides her three children, she is survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; her nephew, Glen H. (Jack) Merritt and her niece, Jo Patricia (Davis Yost); 2 grand-nephews and 3 grand-nieces, and their families.
After their marriage, Margaret and Rowland lived in Redlands, Burbank, San Pedro and Montebello, California, during his career with the YMCA. She had a deep love for Jesus and was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She was also a gifted vocalist who loved to share her music with others, performing in local community theatre productions and singing in church choirs. She wrote poetry, painted pictures, did needle work and craft projects. At the time of her death, she was singing with the Whittier New Century Singers, taking knitting lessons at the Senior Center, and painting.
Burial will be private. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Location is pending.

Her family and friends will miss her greatly.
