Sarah Teresa Rose Whitanis, 70, was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on June 1, 1941 and passed in Newport Beach on December 8, 2011.
Sarah was a wonderfully loving and generous mother, who led by example and was very dedicated to her family. She was a God fearing woman who was very active in church at St. Simon & Jude Catholic church in Huntington Beach. She always extended a helping hand, putting others before herself. She loved the ocean, loved to read and was an avid sports fan. Her family describes her as a "living saint."
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Simon & Jude Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Good Shepherd Cemetery in Huntington Beach.
Sarah is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Richard, her sons, Robert Sousa of Mission Viejo and Paul Sousa of Las Vegas, and her daughter, Kimberly (Paul) Finch of Westminster. She also leaves her grandaughters, Natalie and Katherine Sousa of Mission Viejo and Emily Love of San Clemente, and her great grandson, Blake Sousa Love of Las Vegas and great grandaughter, Juliette Love of San Clemente. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Stanley of Casco, Maine and Esther McIsaac of Peppermill, Massachusetts.
