Sheila Ryan Green, 80, was born in San Francisco, CA on December 29, 1937 to Thomas Ryan and Mary McCarthy and passed away in Los Alamitos, CA on November 8, 2018. She was previously employed as a Teacher for 10 years, having attained her Master's Degree in Education.
From an early age, Sheila's fascination with the theater led this San Francisco girl to study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. Sheila continued her education at Cal and earned her Masters degree in literature at the University of Maryland. Sheila's love for playing tennis brought her long-lasting friendships wherever she lived and her enthusiasm for football and her beloved Washington Redskins was contagious. From her years in France and Singapore, Sheila acquired a taste for creative cooking and fresh ingredients, often from her own garden. During most of her life, she had the companionship of at least one cat. Later in life she continued to enjoy live theater, classical music, and movies from the golden age of cinema.
Sheila is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Malcolm D. Green of Long Beach, CA, her daughters, Kennocha "Kenna" (Mitchell) Armstrong of Hendersonville, North Carolina and Cecily Ryan Green (Patrick McDuffie) of Brentwood, Maryland. She also leaves her grandchildren, Bridget Ryan Armstrong of Baltimore, Maryland, Kelly Armstrong Lasher of Cumberland, Maryland, Daniel Brennan Armstrong of Baltimore, Maryland, her great grandson, Brennan Lasher of Cumberland, Maryland and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Sheila is predeceased by her brother, Thomas Michael Ryan and sister, Margaret Eugenia Ryan. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
