Stephan Ryan Underhill, 59, was born in Seattle, Wa. on March 17, 1954 and passed away in Loma Linda, Ca. on February 25, 2014. He was previously employed as a Maintenance Engineer for 30 years.
His family writes:
Stephan was a man who enjoyed spending time with family. He was a craftsman who always took pride in his work. A perfectionist, some would say. He loved to help anyone in need and found joy in making people laugh. He also loved listening to oldies.
Whether it was repairing sprinklers broken by rookie gardener, Steven, or building a beautiful patio and home, it was a must that it be done his way. He had a green thumb, this shows in his beautiful garden. His welcoming garden went hand in hand with his welcoming personality.
Stephan enjoyed cooking but loved to bake. He was a natural. His mastery showed when he prepared his specialty, peanutbutter pancakes with two over easy eggs on top. Would not be complete without the hot syrup. Right before eating this and every meal, he always made sure to pray and give thanks to God. He remembered to be thankful for all his blessings.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 9:30 am at St. Anthony's Church in San Gabriel, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Services will conclude at the church.
Stephan is survived by his loving wife, Martha Underhill of Ontario, and his sons, Stephan R. Underhill Jr. of Santa Monica and Steven G. Underhill of Ontario. He was a step father and grandfather to many. He also leaves his siblings, Pamela Rodriguez and Chris Underhill, both of Palm Springs. He is predeceased by his brother, Gary Underhill, who passed away in November 2013.
