Susana Edith Christiansen was born on November 30, 1981 in Los Angeles, California and entered into eternal rest on April 4, 2016 in Santa Monica, California. She was 34 years old.
Music was Susana's biggest love, going to concerts, dancing, sharing music with the children. It was one of their favorite things to do together, show each other songs they love.
She loved to travel, her last few trips being to Germany, Utah, Las Vegas Florida and Georgia.
Making others smile was always a higher priority to her than her own suffering. She spent her last few hours trying to help myself and her best friend Grindy laugh and smile with her even though she was in a lot of pain. She was always trying to come up with things to do for people, baking them pastries, cookies, cakes, etc.
The holidays were her favorite times of the year, all holidays. She couldn't wait to celebrate with the children, decorate, make holiday specific foods and desserts. Christmas time especially was big for Susi. She had Christmas music playing all day every day from Thanksgiving through New Years. She loved Christmas.
The children were the most important thing in her world and she was always everything a mother should be in her mind no matter how much pain and suffering she was enduring, even though it would make it harder for her. All that mattered to her was the kids enjoying every possible activity, event, holiday, with her just like any other kid would in her mind.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she had served in the Young Women's Presidency and taught Young Women classes until her illness kept her from it. She wouldn't even step down when she was told by the president that she needed to save her energy to try and get better and that it would be okay. She loved serving others and trying to help in any way she could even when it became so difficult for her.
She was passionate about politics and was very excited and vocal to all of her friends about the current election right up until the end.
Susana is survived by her loving husband Nathan William Christiansen and her 3 children; daughter Berlin Edith Penate-Joyner, daughter Hannah Maribel Penate-Joyner and London Benjamin Penate-Joyner all of Los Angeles, California. She also leaves behind her parents; father Mario Antonio Guerra and mother Edith Carmen Penate of Los Angeles, California as well as her mother-in-law Ann Tippetts Christansen of West Mountain, Utah, father-in-law William Albert Christiansen of Tallahassee, Florida and her uncle and aunt Benjamin & Maribel Lopez of Los Angeles, California.
