Theodore “Ted” Masashi Fujinami, aka “Tido”, 78, of Rosemead, California passed away on July 20, 2014. He was the son of Kuniyuki and Kinuko Fujinami and was born in Hawaii on September 5, 1935. Ted joined the U.S. army at the age of 17 and proudly served during the last year of the Korean War. He was mentioned in the Stars and Stripes as the youngest soldier to be named Sergeant. Ted was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sadako Okabe in June of 2006. They were married for over 30 years.
Ted worked as a Lithographer for Anderson Lithograph for several years as well as other printing companies. He was in the printing business for over 20 years. In his younger years he would often go golfing, fishing and bowling, which he played in a league with his wife. He enjoyed gambling and would often go to Santa Anita Race Track to bet on the ponies and drive to Las Vegas with his wife and kids.
Ted is survived by his daughters, Anna Iwata and Sophia Thorne and his grandchildren, Erika Iwata, Reina Iwata and Blake Thorne.
