Thomas Edwin Hill, 76, was born in Oakland, California on June 1, 1947, to Mackey W. Hill and Bertha E. Mann and entered eternal rest on April 13, 2024, in Long Beach, California.

Thomas grew up in Oregon attending elementary school and high school there.
He graduated from George Fox College with a B.S. in Biology. At Oregon State University he was a researcher studying the after effects of the volcanic eruptions on Mt St Helens. He received his Pharmacy Technician certification at OSU and worked as a Pharm Tech for many years.

Tom had many jobs throughout his life, no job was beneath him. One of his first jobs as a young boy was a carpenter's helper. In his teens, he worked on local agricultural farms and canneries in the harvesting of crops. He worked in various retail positions in different stores as a manager, clerk, etc.
His latest job was as an associate at Walmart for 17 years.
Tom was a very hard worker, dependable, conscientious, and always doing his best.

Tom loved his family. He was truly devoted to his wife, Joy, and loved being a dad to
their twin sons. But deeply saddened by her sudden death, he and his sons were changed by their great loss 19 years ago. He has been so proud of his sons and was looking forward to spending time with them and his daughter-in-law and grandbaby and extended family in retirement.

Tom was a Christian, who tried to live his life to please God. He had a gentle and kind spirit and was interested in people and cared about them. He was very giving, always wanting to help when he could. He saw potential in people and would encourage them to bring out the best in them.

We miss him tremendously but know he is out of pain, in heaven and we will see him again. "Casting all your cares on Jesus, because He cares for you". 1 Peter 5:7

Thomas is survived by his loving family: Sons, Michael Hill (Anna) of Whittier and Mark Hill of Long Beach, Brother, Reg Hill(Lynette) of Idaho, Sisters, Marilyn Pruitt(Lloyd) of Oregon, Patricia Craven of Oregon, Sylvia Boyd(Steve) of Los Alamitos, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Thomas was reunited at Heaven's Gate by our Lord, Wife, Joy, and Sister, Sara Grant.
