Tillie Garcia

Tillie Garcia, 96, was born in Olga, Arizona on March 15, 1917 and passed away in Arcadia on July 17, 2013. She had been a resident of Montebello for many years and had resided in Los Angeles County since 1934. She was born to Zeferino Hernandez and Juanita Carbajal.
Tillie was a Chef for the Los Angeles Unified School District for over 20 years. She loved to travel and visited her family in England on many occasions. She was a fantastic cook and even though she was a chef by profession, she truly enjoyed cooking "off duty" for her family. Tillie also loved floral arranging and studied the French language her entire life. She was always busy and never idle.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 21 2013 from 2:00-4:00pm in the Risher Montebello Mortuary Chapel.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Ann Garcia of the United Kingdom, her grandaughters, Elizabeth (Daren Abbot) Garcia of Watham Abbey, Essex, UK and Jennifer (Martyn) Bargus of Clacton-On-Sea, Essex, UK and her grandson, Matthew (Janet) Garcia of Darbyshire, UK. She also leaves her great grandaughter, Megan Harrison and great grandson, Graham Bargus.
