Uldarica Pilo Alberto, also lovingly known as Mama Dar, 78, was born on July 4, 1941 to Antonio Pilo and Fabiana Felicidad in Banday City, Southern Leyte, Philippines and entered into eternal rest on January 3, 2020 in Pomona, California.

Although she suffered from Multiple Sclerosis during her later years, she led a full and meaningful life. She attended Malitbog High School in Leyte, Santo Nino College, Southwestern University School of Nursing and Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Cebu. After graduation, she was recruited to work as a nurse in Canada. Unable to handle the Canadian cold, she requested to work in a warmer location and was transferred to Los Angeles where she met her late husband. With hard work and dedication, Mama Dar worked as a registered nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles for over 30 years. She also worked at West Covina Hospital in West Covina, and Greater El Monte Hospital in South El Monte.

Outside of work, Mama Dar was a deeply religious person who enjoyed praying the rosary every day. She also loved music, singing, dancing, the Sound of Music, flowers, penny slot machines, Almond Rocha, mimosas, Vicks, Lemonade or 7 up as best remedies, and, most of all, family. She enjoyed celebrating annual holidays and special occasions with Kumpadre Arthur, Kumadre Dalia and their family, as well as Kumpadre Nick, Kumadre Rebecca and their family.

She leaves behind her loving Family; Daughters: Toni Ross-Njoroge of Los Angeles, CA, Joy Lynn Dodge (Kirk) of Garden Grove, CA, Gayle Beth Alberto (Nelon Surapak) of Arleta, CA, Grandchildren: Tommy Cabibbo of Whittier, CA, Portia Cabibbo of Whittier, CA, DeVante Ross of Montclair, CA, Jordyn Ross of Mission Viejo, CA, Brittani Alberto of Pasadena, CA, Maharlika Peetoom of Long Beach, CA, Jeronimo Panopio of Garden Grove, CA, Jalen Njoroge of Anaheim, CA, Great Grandchildren: Jayden Ross of Montclair, CA, Mason Ross of Montcliar, CA, Sister, Lily Bitos of Philippines, along with other family and friends who will love and miss her dearly.

Her departure will be deeply felt for those of us fortunate to know her. She was loving, kind, caring, funny and always had a smile on her face. She never let the effects of her Multiple Sclerosis take away the joy within her heart. The family would like to express their thanks for the wonderful care given by her caregivers, Atrina, Tetchie, Zhen-Zhen, and Lejenz Home Care in Diamond Bar, California.

Mama Dar was met at Heavens gate by her Husband, Cleofas Alberto.

To continue the tradition started by Mama Dar upon the death of her husband, the family would like to request that family and friends wear white to the memorial service and funeral to represent happiness. Please no black attire.
