Verna L. Cota, 94, was born in Brookings, South Dakota on April 16, 1918 and passed away at her residence in Rosemead, Ca. on February 4, 2013. She was surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Cota was previously employed as a Personel Director with the Veteran's Administration and worked in that industry for 35 years.
Mrs. Cota loved to cook and bake. She enjoyed making all of her own clothes, knitting and crocheting. She was always impeccably dressed. Mrs. Cota "mothered" everyone she met as well as the animals she rescued. She loved all of them, especially her little dogs. She was also an outstanding bowler.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Resurrection Cemetery. The time is pending.
She is survived by her husband, Rudy J. Cota Sr. of Montebello, her daughter, Jean L. Ward of Rosemead, her step son, Rudy J. Cota Jr. (Melissa Cota) of New Mexico and her step daughter, Suzanne Cota of Rancho Cucamonga. She also leaves 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
