Vidal Garay, 60, of El Nayar, Nayarit, Mexico was Born on May 16, 1960 and passed away on June 20, 2020 after a valiant battle with COVID-19. Vidal Garay lived in South Los Angeles during the end of his life. He was a loving Husband, Grand Father, Father, Brother, and Friend.

Vidal was a beautiful person. He enjoyed Fishing, Camping, Reading first person narratives and his favorite newspaper; La Opinión. He was a hard worker all of his life and always exemplified great work ethic. He worked in Construction, Cable, and would serve the community of East Los Angeles as a Security Officer in his later years of life. Vidal was the type of person who would lead by example; Never afraid to try new things and never afraid to fail. He raised three boys of his own to become Men, he would always tell his children - “I want to be your best friend first and father second.”

Vidal is best described by his children as a man “Who never showed fear,” and a person who “never quit and was always a fighter.” Vidal Garay was a jokester with his children and more importantly his best friend. All three of his sons remember Vidal as a Dad they didn’t have to be “careful” around. As adults, Vidal would join them in having a beer and was always non-judgmental. As Vidal’s youngest son Benjamin Garay would quote in remembrance of his father; “I’d be happy to be half the man he was.”

Vidal Garay is Survived by his Wife Of 34 years Norma Garay and their three sons-Juan, Richard, and Benjamin. Vidal Garay was also a Grandfather to three grandchildren with a fourth on the way during his time of passing.

A Drive-through viewing will be held for Vidal and is planned for Saturday, July 11th, 2020 from 10:30AM - 12:00PM. The viewing will be held at the Risher Mortuary on 1316 W. Whittier Blvd, Montebello, CA 90640. The funeral will follow immediately at 1 pm at The Inglewood Park Cemetery. All are welcomed to attend.

The family has a GoFundMe set up due to his unexpected death from the COVID virus, along with 28 other people in his family who contracted the virus. Vidal's sister-in-law passed away as well. The family would appreciate your help.
