William John Abakumoff, 86, was born on December 25, 1921 in Guadalupe, Baja, California and passed away on April 19, 2008 in Whittier, California.
He lived the majority of his life in the Los Angeles area where he met and married, Katherine Kornoff. William faithfully served the Lord at the UMCA and the 'Big Church.' His warm smile and kindness were an encouragement to all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Katherine; his daughter Karen Eropkin and her husband William; his daughter Nancy Bagdanov and her husband John; his grandchildren Evan and Tamara Eropkin, Rebekah Eropkin, and Seth, Ethan and Mikaela Bagdanov; and great grandson Alek Eropkin.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at Risher Montebello Mortuary Chapel at 2:30pm, with the Dressing Prayer beginning at 3:30pm.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2008, at 10:00 from the Russian Molokan Big Church in Los Angeles, California, immediately followed by services and interment at the Russian Molokan Cemetery, Commerce, California.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the UMCA Library in William's name.
