Precious Memories

• Billy was always a lot of fun. On some Sunday's he would go with
Grandpa Wood to the big Men’s bible class at Baptist church, He went to Brodripple high school. He quit school to join the Navy. His mother had to sign for him to join the navy – A. Shirley
• "Billy" loved to "rough-house" it and always wanted to wrestle. This
kept us in hot water with both of our parents. There was no ignoring it. To do so subjected you quickly to a "full-nelson" or perhaps a "scissor-grip" of some kind. Billy was wiry and strong. Even though I out-weighed him I couldn't out-wrestle him - C. Larry
• Billy met my sister Gwen via my husband, they flirted with the
girls in the dime store. Double Trouble. – S-I-L. Margie
• My Pop was an amazing man giving king and loving, I was blessed
by his love and examples he set. They were work hard, be kind and be on time! If not an hour early. L O L! – D. Marti
• Early in my childhood my dad was my hero and protector. Thanks to
his reading to me every night I have a deep love for reading. Later he became my friend, confidant and shooting buddy. His confidence in me gave me confidence to learn. To the end he was my hero. – Bill III
• When I found out Pops was moms step dad, Pops was family. Pops
taught me thru his example how to love family that is not blood, and thru thick and thin he had a positive attitude. – G.S. Dan
• In his darkest days Poppa Bill showed his genteel nature. Though he
had health set-backs he would always ask: “HOW ARE YOU?” & “HOW IS… then he would add some humor to the situation. He never lost his faith in the good Lord. He kept a positive attitude; talks were NOT filled with negative thoughts or malice towards others. My memories of him are of a gentle soul. - G.D. Diana & G.S. Dave
• Bill predicted that the Raiders would win the Super Bowl this year.
Pops loved the Raiders, - F. Chuck
• He tried to get me to steal food for him. - F. Betty and Deb
