Yuriko had an older brother, Kazunari Takahashi, and a younger sister, Toshiko Azuma, who have predeceased her.

Yuriko married Warner L. Davis in Kobe, Japan, on May 15th, 1951, and subsequently immigrated to America to be with her new husband a year later. They traveled extensively because of her husband’s 23 year military career, but when Warner finally retired in 1971, they called Seaside, California their home. They celebrated 54 years of marriage before, Warner passed away in March of 2007.

Yuriko is survived by her daughter, Yulanda Davis-Quarrie who resides in San Dimas, California with her husband, Donald Quarrie and their two daughters, Tara and Kira Davis-Quarrie. Yuriko was an avid reader and loved to read books on Japanese history. She was also a beautiful seamstress and had the gift of knitting, crocheting, and quilting. What she loved the most was spending time with her Japanese community of friends, whether it was taking them to the doctor, having lunch or going to her monthly bible study sessions. She also loved being a member of the Japanese Christian community at 1st Baptist Church of Marina, where she had been a member for over 35 years as well as her monthly bible study classes led by Pastor Kuriyama, from the 19th Avenue Japanese Baptist Church in San Francisco.
